What make Muslims don't read the Quran

1) This question is raised, because, true enough,  a lot of Muslims do not read the Quran.

2) If they read the Quran, they don't read to understand, but just RECITING the Quran without UNDERSTANDING. The purpose of Reciting the Quran is just to get BARAKAH and reward from Allah, ironically, even the RECITER dont even Understand the Meaning!

3) VERY SADLY, this is the REALITY to Most Muslims today. And this is WRONG.

4) The MAIN Reason why Muslims do not Read Al-Quran is because they have made to BELIEVED by the FOLLOWER of Assumptions that IT IS NOT FARD or Obligatory to READ and UNDERSTAND Al-Quran.

5) The Pillars of Islam DOES Not Include READING the Quran as a MUST or OBLIGATORY and the Pillars of IMAN (Faith) only mention to BELIEVE in the Books of Revelation.

No - it does not say the FARD or OBLIGATORY to READ the QURAN.

It is under this category called - PREFERABLE (SUNAT) but not MANDATORY.

6) The second reason why Muslims don't read Al-Quran is because of FEAR.

Fear of what ?

Fear of becoming MISGUIDED if they Interpret themselves based on the sayings of so-called scholars.

And also those sayings by a lot of so-called scholars to not READ the Quran without teacher because then the teacher of the reader will be from syaitan.

7) How Pity and Sad - we MUSLIM, forever - if this kind of believe STUCK in our HEAD - till we die.

First and foremost, please understand this.  Where do we get this 5 Pillars of Islam ?

- Syahadah, Salah, Fasting, Zakah and Hajj. ?

The answer is, it is from Sahih Hadith but Hadith is just one source of reference but, WHAT is the MAIN REFERENCE of this DEEN (Religion) of Islam ?

The answer is The Book of Revelation which is this time, it is Al-Quran.

And surprisingly what Allah ORDERS us to do in Al-Quran is a LOT MORE than just Those Pillars of Islam.

Those are just the Pillars but it is NOT COMPLETE in a construction of a building. And in any building, before we put the Wall or Roof, yes we need Pillars first. But, what preceed the Pillars in any construction ?

It is called the BASE.

Before Pillars can to be ERECTED, we must have the BASE.  Without the Base, either Concrete BASE or proper soil condition, Pillars cannot be ERECTED.

This BASE is no other than UNDERSTANDING the Al-Quran itself.

And furthermore - even BEFORE the BASE, what precede the BASE of any construction?

Al-Quran is not only the BASE. BUT, most importantly it is the BLUEPRINT to construct the building. Without BLUEPRINT, nothing can be constructed.

8) Let us go back to the 2 Main Reason why Muslims dont read the Quran :

a) They just Recite for Barakah. Is it true we get BARAKAH from just Reciting Quran ? It IS ONLY TRUE if we UNDERSTAND its MEANING. It is IGNORANT and STUPID to ASSUME that even without understanding the Quran, by just reciting it, we get the reward. Al-Quran is REVEALED to us for OUR GUIDANCE. What kind of GUIDANCE if you dont understand the GUIDANCE ?

b) They dont read because of FEAR or AFRAID that if they make their OWN INTERPRETATION then they will be MISGUIDED. For this case, please ANALYZE properly this FEAR that we have :

Do we really believe that if we Read the Quran - we will be MISGUIDED ?

It is ACTUALLY the REVERSE. Again, Al-Quran is the Book of GUIDANCE, how can we say the one who READ the Quran, potential to be MISGUIDED. It is the one who dont read the Quran that is MISGUIDED !

And the Way to READ the Quran To UNDERSTAND is by MAKING DEDUCTION of the verses and not by putting our own OPINION if something we dont understand. It is the putting of our OPINION is the WRONG part.

Ask Ulama who fears Allah if we dont understand and use reasons and keep researching and we have to be ULAMA ourselves so that we fear Allah too and understand the Quran. Do not rely on the Assumptions of so-called scholars that have not been verified. They may INDUCED their OPINION on certain verses and this is Very Wrong and will lead to Astray.

c) They dont read Al-Quran because it is NOT OBLIGATORY. This is the TOP MOST DEVIANT understanding that we MUSLIMS have ASSUMED to be true - generation after generation.

Without the BASE, No Pillars can be erected. Without the BLUEPRINT, nothing can be constructed.

Reading and UNDERSTAND Al-Quran, each word of the  6236 verses, must be FINISHED and FULLY UNDERSTOOD.

Not only it will become our GUIDANCE and Light to choose what is Right from Wrong, but Conveying OUR UNDERSTANDING of the QURAN also is MANDATORY.


9) Why Reading and Understanding Al-Quran is the BLUEPRINT and the BASE before the Pillars ? And WHY Reading and Understand is The MOST MANDATORY among the other Mandatories or FARD in Islam :

a) Because it is not the Sahih Hadith that is the Main Reference for all matters in the DEEN but, it is the Quran, that is MANDATORY to be FOLLOWED :

Al-A'raaf : 3

اتَّبِعُوا مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

● FOLLOW (ITTABI'U), [O mankind], what has been REVEALED (UNZIL) to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. ●

Al-An'aam : 105

وَكَذٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الْءَايٰتِ وَلِيَقُولُوا دَرَسْتَ وَلِنُبَيِّنَهُۥ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

● And thus do We EXPLAIN IN DETAIL (NUS°ARRIFU) the verses so they may say, "You have studied," and so We may make the Qur'an CLEAR (NUBAIYYINAHU) for the people who KNOW. ●

Because Al-Quran has got EXPLANATION in DETAILS - that is why it is the BLUE PRINT and the MAIN REFERENCE of All things in the world; and No Other Book has this criteria.

b) Because all those Pillars of Islam cannot be Erected or Fragile without Understanding of the Quran :

Al-Hajj : 8

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجٰدِلُ فِى اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ

● And of the people is he who disputes about Allah WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE, WITHOUT GUIDANCE AND WITHOUT enlightening BOOK [from Him], ●

Without the Quran, there will be NO KNOWLEDGE and No GUIDANCE at all. Nothing can be CORRECTLY DONE Or pursued.


c) Because our SYAHADAH - the first Pillar of Islam is Not VALID or VAGUE or UNTRUE without Understanding of Al-Quran :

Aal-i-Imraan : 18

شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُولُوا الْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

● Allah WITNESSES (SYAHID) that there is no god except Him, and [so do] the angels and THOSE OF KNOWLEDGE (ULUL 'ILM) - [that He is] stand corrected. There is no god except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. ●

Saba : 6

وَيَرَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ الَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ هُوَ الْحَقَّ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلٰى صِرٰطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

● And those who have been given KNOWLEDGE (UTUL 'ILMA) see that what is REVEALED to you from your Lord is the TRUTH, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy. ●

ULUL 'ILMA comes from UTUL 'ILMA. These people who HAVE TRUE KNOWLEDGE - have TRUE UNDERSTANDING of Al-Quran :

Al-Ankaboot : 49

بَلْ هُوَ ءَايٰتٌۢ بَيِّنٰتٌ فِى صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايٰتِنَآ إِلَّا الظّٰلِمُونَ

● Rather, the Qur'an is CLEAR (BAIYYINAT) verses [preserved] within the S°UDUR of those who have been GIVEN KNOWLEDGE (UTUL 'ILMA). And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers. ●


d) Because it is Al-Quran that the prophet and messenger Muhammad PBUH, responsible to CONVEY to all people. And, because it is also MANDATORY for us to CONVEY AL-QURAN to other people after we HAVE UNDERSTOOD. The Biggest curse that a human being can have, beyond the curse of Munafiqun or Kafirun, is this curse :

Al-Baqara : 159

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنٰتِ وَالْهُدٰى مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِى الْكِتٰبِ ۙ أُولٰٓئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللّٰعِنُونَ

● Indeed, those who conceal what We HAVE REVEALED of clear proofs and GUIDANCE after We made it CLEAR for the people in the BOOK - those are CURSED by Allah and CURSED by those who CURSE ●

Al-Maaida : 99

مَّا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلٰغُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ

● Not upon the Messenger is [responsibility] except [for] CONVEYING [the message] (BALAGH). And Allah knows whatever you reveal and whatever you conceal. ●

This is THE BIGGEST or MAIN SUNNAH of the prophet that we have to FOLLOW - CONVEY Messages of Allah. Most people "follow' not the Main Sunnah.

e) Because without READING and Understanding the Quran - all MUSLIMS will be lead to ASTRAY, following the Assumptions from Most people in the world :

Al-An'aam : 116

وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ

● And if you OBEY (TUT°I') MOST of those upon the earth, they will MISLEAD (YUD°ILLU) you from the way of Allah. They FOLLOW not except ASSUMPTION (Z°AN), and they are not but GUESSING (YAKHRUSUN). ●

f) Because without Reading and Understanding the Quran, we will get a Syaitan sent by Allah as our Companion :

Az-Zukhruf : 36

وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطٰنًا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٌ

● And whoever is blinded from remembrance [Al-Quran] of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a SYAITAN, and he is to him a COMPANION. ●

g) Because Al-Quran is the Only True BOOK of GUIDANCE, proven 100% No Contradiction inside the Book. It is through Al-Quran that GUIDANCE is given :

Az-Zumar : 23

اللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتٰبًا مُّتَشٰبِهًا مَّثَانِىَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلٰى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ

● Allah has REVEALED the best statement: a Book resembling each other and off-repeated. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the GUIDANCE of Allah by which He GUIDES whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide. ●

An-Nisaa : 82

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْءَانَ ۚ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ اللَّهِ لَوَجَدُوا فِيهِ اخْتِلٰفًا كَثِيرًا

● Then do they not TADABBUR [understand the meaning behind] upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much CONTRADICTION (IKHTILAAF). ●

h) Because without the Quran - we dont know WHAT to BELIEVE And WHAT is BELIEVE (Faith) :

Ash-Shura : 52

وَكَذٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا الْكِتٰبُ وَلَا الْإِيمٰنُ وَلٰكِن جَعَلْنٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلٰى صِرٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

● And thus We have INSPIRED to you an inspiration of Our command. You DID NOT KNOW what is the Book or [what is] FAITH, but We have made it a light by which We GUIDE whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muhammad], you guide to a straight path - ●


i) Because without Al-Quran, we would not know, who is Allah, and how to describe about HIM ?

Al-Baqara : 255

اللَّهُ لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظِيمُ

● Allah - there is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. ●


j) Because without Al-Quran, we will be in the Dark, not clear which path to choose, and be deviated from the straight (true) path :

Al-Maaida : 15

يٰٓأَهْلَ الْكِتٰبِ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا كُنتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَيَعْفُوا عَن كَثِيرٍ ۚ قَدْ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتٰبٌ مُّبِينٌ

● .. There has come to you from Allah a LIGHT and a CLEAR Book. ●

Al-Maaida : 16

يَهْدِى بِهِ اللَّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوٰنَهُۥ سُبُلَ السَّلٰمِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلٰى صِرٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

● By which Allah GUIDES those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from DARKNESS into the LIGHT, by His permission, and guides them to a SYRAIGHT PATH. ●

k) BECAUSE the Real Reason Why we human being being PUNISHED, is because of the DENIAL (KAZZABU) and TURNING AWAY (Dont Read and Understand) from Al-Quran :

Al-A'raaf : 36

وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِـَٔايٰتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَآ أُولٰٓئِكَ أَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خٰلِدُونَ

● But the ones who DENY (KAZZABU) Our VERSES (AYAAT) and are ARROGANT (ASTAKBAR) toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. ●

Taa-Haa : 48

إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْنَآ أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلٰى مَن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰى

● Indeed, it has been INSPIRED (AUHAIY) to us that the PUNISHMENT ('AZAB) will be upon whoever DENIES (KAZZABA) and TURNS AWAY (TAWALLA). ●

8) There exist another group of people. In fact, The MOST Popular group of People who think they are PIOUS, they are BETTER or their group are BETTER than anyone else, and said - no - no one Can Understand Al-Quran - the way the Old Reputable Scholars UNDERSTAND the Al-Quran.

In fact, whoever have better Understanding of Al-Quran - they will say - no - your Level of Understanding Can Never Reach the Understanding of the Old Reputable Scholars. SO, in the end, these people who Assume that, ONLY their so-called Scholars can UNDERSTAND the Quran, and they can NEVER understand the Quran without THAT MIDDLE MAN induced interpreted for them - they DO NOT Read Al-Quran till they die and these people will become ASTRAY. They only listen to what has been INDUCED Interpreted by the so-called scholars which is NOT the EXACT Meaning of Al-Quran.

These are the people who Allah describes as their Heart have been DEVIATED :

Aal-i-Imraan : 7

هُوَ الَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايٰتٌ مُّحْكَمٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشٰبِهٰتٌ ۖ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَآءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۗ وَالرّٰسِخُونَ فِى الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُولُوا الْأَلْبٰبِ

● It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] MUHKAMAT - they are the foundation of the Book - and others RESEMBLING EACH OTHER (MUTASYAAABIHAAT). As for those in whose hearts is in DEVIATION [from truth], they will follow that of it which is WHAT RESEMBLING from IT[THE BOOK] (MA TASYABHA MINHU), seeking discord and seeking an INTERPRETATION (TAKWIL) [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] INTERPRETATION (TAKWIL) except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except THOSE OF UNDERSTANDING (ULUL ALBAB). ●

And Have they been DECEIVED :

Aal-i-Imraan : 78

وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

● And indeed, there is among them a group who alter the BOOK (AL-KITAB) with their TONGUES so you may THINK it is from the BOOK, but it is not from the BOOK. And they say, "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah. And they speak UNTRUTH about Allah while they know. ●



To these Followers of Assumption people, who have gone DEVIATED and ASTRAY, let us read the verses of Allah :

a) It is Allah who taught us :

Al-Alaq : 5

عَلَّمَ الْإِنسٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ

● [ALLAH] Taught man that which he knew not. ●

b) Allah guides whom He Wills :

Faatir : 8

أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنًا ۖ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرٰتٍ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ

● ... For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and GUIDES WHOM HE WILLS .. ●

Az-Zumar : 23

اللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتٰبًا مُّتَشٰبِهًا مَّثَانِىَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلٰى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذٰلِكَ هُدَى اللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ

● .. That [the Book] is the GUIDANCE of Allah BY WHICH He GUIDES whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide. ●

c) We cannot equate scholars with Allah :

At-Tawba : 31

اتَّخَذُوٓا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا إِلٰهًا وٰحِدًا ۖ لَّآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ سُبْحٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

● They have taken their SCHOLARS and MONKS as LORDS BESIDES ALLAH, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no God except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him. ●
